5th Grade Texas Tangles

5th Grade Artists used Zentangles to create Texas themed art for the Houston Rodeo. 5th Grade Artists drew an image of something that represents Texas. They only drew the outline...and for those of you that don't know, this is often more difficult than drawing the whole thing. They divided their image into sections and filled each section with a different zentangle. They used sharpies for this, so...no mistakes! After the Texas Tangles were finished, they used a wet-in-wet watercolor technique to fill in the space around their drawing with either cool or warm colors. These turned out to be one of their favorite projects! And such variety...space shuttles, armadillos, prickly pear cacti, longhorns, oil pumps, bluebonnets, and much more! The following 5 artworks have been selected to represent Mossman at the District Rodeo Art Show.
