5th Grade Still Life with a Twist

5th Grade Artists have been focusing on the art elements of line and shape. We viewed and discussed several still life paintings and then created our own. Kiddos created contour lines drawings of art supplies that were found in our art room. Each object overlapped with another. The twist is that we made our objects transparent, showing the many organic shapes that overlapping objects create. 5th Grade Artists then filled in each new shape with line and pattern. To add color, they painted their still life pieces using metallic watercolors. Enjoy!
