2nd Grade Paper Sculptures
2nd Grade Artists made paper sculptures in the style of artist Jean Dubuffet. Dubuffet is a self-proclaimed musician, painter, and sculpture. After listening to some of his self-made music, 2nd graders decided that he is a much better artist than musician. Dubuffet is most known for his large abstract sculptures. There is even one at Discovery Green in Houston. Dubuffet's sculptures are so large that in order to get around his studio he rides on a golf-cart. Wow! He also likes to paint the ideas he has for his sculptures. We saw a picture of a room where he covered every bit of wall space with paintings of his sculpture ideas...talk about being surrounded by art ideas! Below are some pictures of 2nd grade sculptures inspired by Dubuffet.
